Infrared Satellite Scanner

The purpose of this system is an observation of the clouds in the superstandard layers from the satellite or airplane for the meteorological issues. A good image quality was not strictly required however an intermediate image was necessary thus the optical system is built on the base of the telescope. An elliptic rotating mirror was used for scanning. The working wavelength was in the infrared range, so germanium  and calcium fluoride haven been used as a lens material. In order to avoid Narcissus effect (a noise caused by multiple retro-reflections between detector and lens surfaces) the last lens surface should not be concentric to the detector. For minimization of the dimensions of scanning mirror the entrance pupil is remote from the system. The center of the pupil is situated on the axis of the mirror rotation.
