Welcome to the world of applied optics!

This web page is devoted to the optics in general and particularly on the issue of optical system design. Being in this business for a number of years I am still enchanted with its beauty. For some people it is just a job, for others it is a duty and for me it is a pleasure. Probably there is no other area in engineering where designer creates some kind of art. While dealing with optics we also play with light and images as the painters do and sometimes one really needs an inspiration to make a lens. Don't you believe me? Maybe after having looked through these pages you will change your mind.

I can't say that I am the one who knows just everything in optics. Its realm is boundless. However it is good to have mysteries and to solve them. It is so exciting and challenging. Certainly there are a lot of people who understand a subject better and who are more capable to produce great things in this area. So this project is my small contribution to the common knowledge of applied optics.
